Squaremeal Review of Hakkasan Hanway Place ?

"I love the decor, the music and the ambience", raves one diner, while other fans are sold on the superbly curated wines and sexy Asian-themed cocktails at Hakkasan – pretty impressive for a sultry destination holed up in a low-lit basement off Tottenham Court Road. This Michelin-starred venue has been doling out VIP thrills since 2001, but it's still at the top of its game, mixing cool clubby vibes with "Chinese food at its absolute best". The kitchen has a peerless reputation for its "beautifully made" dim sum, but there are pleasures galore if you're prepared to shell out: top-dollar calls range from smoked beef ribs with jasmine tea or baby abalone salad in spicy plum dressing with Chinese chive flowers, yam and enoki mushrooms, to turbot steamed in a lotus leaf with spicy bean sauce. Elsewhere, big spenders order the Peking duck with beluga caviar. "Smooth" service puts everyone at their ease, and the whole trip is "worth every penny".

Former Group Wine List of the Year

Hakkasan Group’s wine lists share the same innovative overall structure, with wines separated by quirky categories, like ‘new classics: genius without a château’, or ‘blends: the art of the winemaker’. All have a superlative range of wines, with a heartening willingness to go off the beaten track, as well as reassure diners with a strong selection of Burgundy. An object lesson in professionalism and imagination.

Eat With Steph :: Eat With Steph: Hakkasan Hanway Place

Dim lit room, black square tables and wall panels highlighted with intricate swirls, and complimenting funky music is now the signature look of Hakkasan restaurants worldwide.
We all know my love for the restaurants within Hakkasan Group, notably HKK which is now headed by Chef Tong Chee Hwee, who brings his expertise over from Hakkasan.

Dancing In High Heels :: Dancing In High Heels: HAKKASAN HANWAY PLACE

After a day of pirouettes and grand jetés, we were definitely looking forward to our meal at Hakkasan. It has been a while since my first visit, which I remembered to be good, so I was excited to be back.
Tucked away in a quiet corner, Hakkasan Hanway Place is the original restaurant of Hakkasan that opened back in 2001, headed by Head Chef Tong Chee Hwee.

This Michelin-starred gem may initially seem rather obscure, but as you enter and walk down the stairs you will soon realize that it does have a special kind of feel to it.
Designed by Christian Liaigre, the interior is dimly lit, each table illuminated...

Dim Sum Sunday at Hakkasan Hanway Place My blog :: Connie Consumes Dim Sum Sunday at Hakkasan Hanway Place

I’m ashamed to admit that for a second year running, Chinese New Year has somehow managed to slip my radar! If a friend hadn’t asked me what I had planned for it, I wouldn’t have known it was just around the corner… while we’re at it, which charming animal are we celebrating again?! This is quite an embarrassing confession considering I’ve celebrated this for as long as I can remember.

The Critics Guide :: Hakkasan Hanway Place

Hakkasan on Hanway Street celebrates an ancient Chinese culinary ritual each Sunday, when they put on a special “Dim Sum Sundays” menu. The menu begins with a cocktail from their impressive cocktail selection followed by a half bottle of NV Perrier-Jouët Blason Brut Ros& to accompany your food, and concludes with a cocktail to enjoy with dessert.
