SquareMeal Review of
Dirty Martini Hanover Square
With an extremely elastic happy hour (often until 10pm on weekdays) and a late-late weekend licence, evenings can get downright dirty at this Midtown Manhattan-style drinking den. However, it’s
worth pacing yourself on school nights, unless you’re planning a duvet day. Whether you take your favourites bone-dry, wet or naked (introduce the vermouth to the gin but don’t hook them up),
you’ll find Tanqueray martinis and Ketel One-tinis to suit all tastes. At around £8.50 a throw, the list also extends to cups, punches, slings, sours, mules and hardy perennials such as sidecar and
sazerac. Wine and bubbles are affordably pitched, while food is bang on target for the twenty/thirtysomething Ted Baker demographic – think chilli-crumbed calamari with aïoli, skewers, croquettes,
pot-stickers and sharing boards plus wedges and chips.
