London is full of private dining options, but if you're looking to really impress, there's nothing quite like luxurious hotel Raffles at the Old War Office Building. While the venue spans a selection of opulent restaurants and bars, Mauro's Table offers a unique, personal dining experience for groups of up to 20 guests.
Housed in a wow-worthy, intimate space within this historic building, imagine your guest's faces as they step onto the striking, monochrome floor, and from this rounded wing, look out to one of London's most famous streets. Here, plush fabrics and period architecture are contrasted with a lively open kitchen, as chef Mauro Colagreco creates his masterpiece live - and you have a front row seat!
The private dining menu, which is served from Wednesday to Sunday, is inspired by the royal family's Knotted Garden. Completely seasonal, all produce used is selected in collaboration with the garden's gardeners, breeders and farmers.
The meal will take you on a sensory journey, paying special attention to the herbs which have also been grown, used and celebrated by the royal family, as well as those close to Colagreco's heart. To begin with, for example, guests are invited to partake in a ceremonial hand washing with a home-made fragrance of wild thyme essence, to symbolise thymes place in English gardens since before the 16th Century. Small touches like this throughout are what makes this a truly special experience.
While the website doesn't currently display an updated menu, you're welcome to request one so that you can check what's instore ahead of time. No doubts, though, that this carefully curated succession of what the team call 'art, poetry and ritual' will be divine. And, don't forget to go ahead with the wine flight, which is said to complement adn elevate the dishes.
