The venue is often used as a backdrop for filming period dramas and has played host to hundreds of high-profile events and soirees over the years thanks to its ten beautiful private dining rooms. Each room offers its own character and features, so whether you’re hosting a business event, such as a conference, board meeting, training event or seminar, or a private party, awards dinner or wedding reception, you can be sure of an elegant space for the occasion.
If you’re planning a private dinner with a real sense of occasion, the Council Room is one of its most impressive spaces boasting paintings on the walls on loan from the National Portrait Gallery, bay windows overlooking the gardens, high ceilings, chandeliers and varnished floors. Equally, the Mall Room offers soaring ceilings, ornate guilt carvings and superb views of the Mall (hence its name), and is perfectly suited for working lunches and magnificent private dinners.
Many of the rooms at Carlton House Terrace are interconnecting, allowing private events to flow seamlessly throughout the day and evening. Start with a drinks reception in one room, for example, before moving on for a sit-down meal in another. Rooms can be hired for as few as two guests and for as many as 498 for a standing drinks reception, with various configurations and seating arrangements possible.

There are all sorts of sample menus to whet your appetite, from breakfast to bowl food and canapés, buffets and sharing menus, and cakes and snacks. These menus are not exhaustive though so if you’d like a bespoke menu created for your event, the resident chef will be only to happy to oblige.
