Part of Manchester’s historic Corn Exchange (these days a modern leisure venue housing a hotel and a number of restaurants), Delhi House Cafe is a cafe-meets-restaurant concept which offers two semi-private dining spaces. Both are well suited to either corporate functions such as drinks receptions and business dinners, or more personal affairs including birthday celebrations and family reunions.
The first space available for hire at the venue is the semi-private Corporate Area on the restaurant’s first floor, which can accommodate up to 30 guests for a sit-down meal or up to 50 for a standing reception. This is a cosy and contemporary space, complete with large windows that flood the space with natural daylight and offer views overlooking the manicured gardens of Manchester Cathedral. Guests who hire out the Corporate Area also benefit from the use of a private bar, from which they can sample Deli House Cafe’s range of signature cocktails or globe trotting wine list.
The second space available for hire at Delhi House Cafe is the restaurant’s Lounge area, which is a semi-private affair that can host up to 20 guests for either a sit-down meal or a casual standing reception. Like the rest of the venue, the area benefits from the charm of a Grade II listed building, coupled with the more modern elements such as hanging wicker lanterns and foliage dangling from the ceiling.
As for the food, guests at Delhi House Cafe can make the most of an extensive menu of both classic and contemporary Indian dishes, which stretches from chaat (Indian-style street food) all the way through to large plates such as Alleppy fish curry served with lemon rice and curry leaf tempered coconut yoghurt.
A further draw is the location, with Delhi House Cafe handily located in the city centre, nearby easily accessible transport links.
