Notting Hill is known for its iconic yearly carnival, although the party never has to end thanks to Cottons in Notting Hill which serves up thrilling Caribbean fare every day of the year. This bright and colourful restaurant is located a stone’s throw away from Notting Hill Gate station, and is known for its wide rum selection, cocktails and comforting Caribbean cuisine.
If you’re looking to share a celebratory event or occasion with friends, then Cottons provides the perfect backdrop for a guaranteed good time. There are a range of private dining and group booking options available. Guests can hire the back room for up to 32 people and is a great option for birthdays and celebratory sit-down dinners. With a huge skylight flooding the space with natural light, foliage hanging from the ceiling and an elaborate chandelier, it’s also a fantastic set up for picture opportunities.
For smaller groups looking for an intimate meal, there is a private dining room downstairs for up to 12 guests kitted out with a central wooden table and rum barrels fixed to the walls. The food offering includes a ton of classic punchy Caribbean favourites. Kick off with salt fish fritters with bajan pepper compote and fried shallots or ebony hot wings with chilli pineapple salsa and sriracha hot sauce. There are a selection of meat, fish and veggie mains to choose from with highlights such as jerk chicken with pimiento and spices, stir fried vegetables, jerk sauce, rice and peas or Caribbean fish and seafood stew spiked with chilli and garlic rouill and served with saffron vegetable rice.
The drinks are just as important as the food at Cottons and it prides itself on its impressive selection of classic and signature cocktails. Discover bespoke creations such as the Reggae Rum Punch (rum, orange, pineapple, lime juice, grenadine) and Ocean Breeze (coconut rum, overproof rum, blue curacao, lime, apple, lychee juice). It also offers a rum selection to be rivalled as well as beer, cider and wine.
Should you wish to hire the entire venue for larger celebrations, you can do just that for groups of up to 60 people.
