Six-year wait for UK hotel opening finally over
After a whopping six-year delay, Heckfield Place has confirmed it will open its doors this September – and it looks like it was worth the wait.

Set in 400 acres of rolling Hampshire countryside, the 18th-century Georgian manor estate has been painstakingly restored to its classic origins.

Designer Ben Thompson’s interiors combine historic charm with an understated contemporary feel, featuring salvaged stone, distressed walnut floors, wool upholstery and antique furnishings.

There’s plenty of dining and event space to get excited about too. Marle restaurant can accommodate up to 76 guests and has a well-appointed terrace overlooking the expansive grounds. Over in the converted stables, 36-seater Hearth offers a more intimate setting with a set menu cooked over an open fire.

For small gatherings, the cosy Dining Room can seat up to 22 around a long communal table. The Assembly Rooms, meanwhile, can accommodate larger groups of 100.

In summer, the Sun House and Walled Gardens will offer a great combined option for a drinks reception and private dining for up to 24 invitees.

Guests can look forward to celebrated chef Skye Gyngell’s elegant, unpretentious cooking, with dishes and drinks inspired by seasonal produce grown in the estate’s own biodynamic farm, gardens and orchards.

Other hospitality-friendly facilities include a 67-seater screening room available for private events, a wine cellar bar offering tastings with the resident sommelier, 46 spacious bedrooms and a luxe spa.
