Say goodbye to the days of dietary requirement confusion
Did you know that more than 20% of the UK population is affected by one or more allergic disorders? On top of this, an increasing number of people are opting for a vegan or vegetarian diet. This means that having a large-scale food offering that satisfies everyone at an event can be a minefield.

That’s why the Wellcome Collection has invested in a digital allergen system. It’s part of the venue’s commitment to offering accessible and inclusive dining for all. Interactive touchscreens allow delegates to browse menu items and discover more about each dish, including allergy info.

Wellcome Collection’s conference centre is currently trialling the system (called TASnow), which makes it possible for delegates to view allergen guides on a digital screen. They can also download the menus to their phones via a QR code. What does this mean? All the allergen information will be available to them immediately (no need to ask busy staff), and they can order feeling self-assured it meets their dietary requirements.

‘We hope that the use of these screens will help give further confidence and reassurance to delegates when they are attending events with us,’ said Daniel Caleb, event space manager at Wellcome Collection. ‘We take allergens very seriously and pride ourselves on consistently evolving our offer.’
