Freedom Day marks the relaxing of restrictions across England, but what does that mean for events?

Today marks the much-anticipated Freedom Day in England, which means all Covid-related restrictions are being been relaxed and our little slice of the world can begin to get back to normal.

Part of our past ‘normal’ was making memories at weddings, events, and conferences, an element of life that many have missed in the past months. These special gatherings have been off the cards for so long that by now most people are itching to get back to some semblance of normality.

While many offices made the move to work from home, lots of colleagues and clients have understandably felt detached from each other. The coming of Freedom Day also means that home working will begin to reduce again, with more people heading back to the office on a regular basis. This shift in the workplace dynamic means that large-scale meetings, client dinners and conferences will all begin to come back too.

For many this will be a welcome move to getting back to large-scale professional meet ups. Across the SquareMeal site we’re already seeing huge spikes in our meeting rooms, event spaces and conference suite listings. If you’re looking to get ahead on securing a date in the diary don’t forget about our unique concierge service. Our team is on hand to help you find the perfect venue for your event. This free service is completely flexible, with no minimum numbers or minimum spends required.

Weddings – which have previously been heavily restricted – are now also able to go ahead without limitations on numbers, venues or setup which comes as a welcome move to many. Lots of couples who would ordinarily have got married in 2019 or 2020 have postponed multiple times already in a bid to get their dream day, and they’ll now be able to once again have the event they originally planned.
