This prestigious Mayfair location has seen plenty of famous faces during its years, so you'll be in pretty impressive company if you choose to celebrate your wedding here. Frequent visitors include authors Rudyard Kipling, Agatha Christie and Mark Twain, as well as Theodore Roosevelt, who stayed here before his wedding in 1886. In fact, Brown's Hotel is so proud of its heritage and famous visitor, that they've named a room after dear Teddy – The Roosevelt Room. This stylish space can seat 48 for a ceremony, or 40 for a seated breakfast, or can be interconnected to The Niagara Room next door for a larger event.

The In & Out Naval and Military Club, St James’s

What: On a private corner of St James's Square in London, The In & Out Naval and Military Club hosts weddings for up to 300 guests, in its venue of many rooms. An elegant and romantic space, this venue was founded back in March 1862 by a group of officers who were stationed at the Tower of London, and despite its relatively humble beginnings, has become somewhat of a refined institution. The King Harald V Stateroom is particularly grand with its double-height ceilings and selection of chandeliers, and is the perfect spot for those looking to host up to 100 guests.

What: Why not go all out and book Kensington Palace for your big day – after all, what could be more magical? One of the Historic Royal Palaces and built in 1704, Kensington Palace is a treasure trove of British history, having been the home of Queen Victoria, Diana, Princess of Wales, and Princess Margaret since it was built. Grove House, Roehampton

What: Another of London's grade-II listed Georgian manor houses, Grove House is located near to Putney and Richmond Park, placing it in a greener part of the capital. The gorgeous lawns and rose gardens of Grove House make for great photos, as does the 18th century great lake. Roehampton Great House was once in the place of Grove House, standing between 1622 until 1790. This building was demolished in the late 18th century, making way for the current Grove House, designed by James Wyatt.
