Chelsea Old Town Hall

Centrally located on King’s Road, Chelsea Old Town Hall’s illustrious past is apparent the moment that guests walk through the marbled entrance hall. A classic example of late-Victorian design, with ornate vaulted ceilings, soaring marble columns and mahogany-panelled walls, the venue provides an impressive backdrop for weddings and is perfect for those who appreciate the splendour of stunning architecture. It’s worth noting that although the hall has its own wedding licence, it is also adjacent to the famous Chelsea Register Office, so the space can be used as a reception venue as well as one for civil ceremonies. The Venues in Kensington and Chelsea team will be on hand from the initial planning stages all the way through to the final execution to ensure that the whole day goes to plan and every detail is accounted for. Venue highlights include a musicians’ gallery and a collection of original oil paintings, which make a dramatic backdrop for photographs.

Alongside the Main Hall, Chelsea Old Town Hall also houses three other rooms to be used additionally or alternatively dependent on the size and style of your wedding. The Small Hall is a light and airy room with lots of natural day light. As with the Main Hall it’s a richly decorated space with a striking, ornate fireplace taking centre stage. It can accommodate receptions of up to 180 people with dining facilities for up to 96. Elsewhere, the newly refurbished Cadogan Suite has recently been transformed into an intimate function room featuring an eclectic blend of contemporary and modern décor and has an adjoining kitchen for your caterers to work from. Sitting next to it is the Anti Room, a smaller space that’s perfectly placed to receive guests for a pre-dinner drinks and canapé reception.  It is equally suited to an intimate wedding ceremony after which the wedding breakfast or drinks may be hosted in the main room.  Together these rooms offer a host of flexible opportunities for the smooth running of your big day.
