The best bits of Somerset House are now available to hire for summer parties

The Grade I-listed neoclassical beauty down on the Strand has announced that its East and West Wings will be available for events in the summer months.

The team are clearly keen to hold onto their ‘most versatile venue’ award from last year’s London Venue Awards: this news brings the event-space count up to 11 by our reckoning.

The West Wing (which comprises 19 separate spaces) will take 150 guests for a standing reception, while its easterly counterpart will accommodate double that; both come with high ceilings, grand windows and pretty views.

Hire of either of the two spaces will include access to a section of the famous Fountain Court, where guests can enjoy 'Halo', an art installation by duo Kimchi and Chips.

The wings have previously housed plenty of high-profile exhibitions including the most recent ‘North: Fashioning Identity’, along with renowned Sony World Photography Awards.
