Neo-classical Somerset House is hard to miss on the south side of the Strand. Walk through its imposing cobbled square and you’ll arrive at one of its indoor spaces, many of which feature exhibitions that can be viewed during an event. Seamen’s Hall is our favourite: here, corinthian columns and high-arched windows make a striking space for receptions and dinners. There’s also a screening room and plenty of characterful spots often used for filming locations and product launches. During the summer months its grand terrace, which overlooks the Thames and the South Bank, makes a fine spot for receptions.
