There are a number of rooftop restaurants in London that boast incredible views while you dine and drink, but few are quite as magnificent as those at Aqua Shard, which is located on level 31 of Western Europe's tallest building. Anyone invited to a private dinner hosted at this unique restaurant will jump at the opportunity, and with good reason. Its unique glass-walled private dining space offers truly stunning panoramic views of the city’s skyline, which is a sight to behold both day and night.
If you’re planning a more formal sit-down dinner, the room has the capacity for up to 30 guests seated around three separate round tables (one of 12, one of 10 and one of 8), while a standing reception in this gorgeous space could hold up to 50 people. From breakfast to lunch and dinner, the room serves as a versatile location for business meetings, parties and other celebatory events.
Aqua Shard also offers two semi-private spaces: The Tea Wing and The Gin Wing. The former can house up to 150 people for a standing reception only, while the latter is slightly larger with a capacity of 200 standing, or 100 seated. And for those looking to host a larger exclusive event, the entire restaurant can be booked for 200 guests for dinner or up to 360 standing for drinks.
The menu features British dishes with a modern European twist. Starters might include the likes of beef tartare with a bloody Mary gel, toasted sourdough and egg yolk emulsion, while mains are just as elegant with Cornish sea bass served alongside a pearl barley and mussel risotto and a winter radish salad. While the wine list is incredibly broad and includes a strong selection from regions all over the world, from Italy to New Zealand to Lebanon.
