Sketch: The Glade is a stylish, all-day bar and restaurant inside world-famous Mayfair gallery Sketch. One of London’s most enchanting, distinctively designed spaces, The Glade is one of four restaurants inside Sketch, found to the rear of the townhouse.
The Glade was designed by Mourad Mazouz in collaboration with artists Carolyn Quartermaine and Didier Mahieu, decorated to enhance the room's forest themed decor. The space is adorned with velvet upholstery in striking shades of green, violet, and cobalt blue. Colored mirrored tabletops have been added to reflect the tinted glass ceiling above like pools of water in a glade. The hand-woven carpet - crafted by Alexandra Kehayoglou - is designed to mimic the texture of a forest floor, whilst a suspended tree canopy by Lucy Vail Floristry, first created for an exhibition, has since taken root as a permanent feature.
The Glade offers breakfast, lunch, and afternoon tea by day, before transforming into a refined cocktail bar in the evening. On the breakfast menu you'll find luxurious dishes like French toast with blood orange and creme fraiche, and omelette Arnold Bennett, alongside classic dishes like Eggs Benedict, granola bows with yoghurt and fresh fruit, and specialty coffee. Lunch brings hearty, elevated cooking - confit lamb shoulder with polenta, or miso cod loin with butternut squash puree - and afternoon tea is also popular for its precise finger sandwiches, patisserie and top class Champagne.
And, in the twilight hours, the talented bar staff are able to mix up all manner of interesting cocktails, as well as serve a well-curated wine list and range of Champagnes.
