Chose Rabot 1745 for dinner with foodie friends, as somethnin different. Not disappointed. I wouldn't rave over the white chocolate mash, and my cheesecake was mediocre, but everything else we tried was superb. Especially the sauces. Between us we had risotto, market fish of the day, chicken, cheesecake, the triad of chocolate mouse and flourless almond cake. With mash, spinach and fries. The three dipping sauces with the fries particularly good. Food was beautifully presented, staff attentive but unobtrusive. With a small carafe of rose and tea, total bill £125 for 3 including service automatically added. This was a Wednesday night, on the terrace, but after the market had closed for the day. I imagine it would be much better on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday evening, or any lunchtime. Light rugs thoughtfully provided in case the evening was cool, comfortable seating with decent distance from the next table. The only problem with the location is being right beside the railway and trains rumbling in and out of London Bridge station make conversation difficult sometimes. - shouldn't have chosen a table on that side of the terrace perhaps. Also given a 20% discount card for any chocolate shopping that evening.
