Pub in the Park: menus, what to see and more

If your idea of a good time is trying out a new restaurant or turning on The Great British Bake Off, then let us introduce you to the culinary version of Glastonbury - Pub in the Park.

This touring festival is travelling through nine stops in the UK, with a combination of live music, comedy and pop up restaurants serving 150 dishes by 39 award-winning chefs.

The festival has already kicked off, and will run until 18 September. Nex on the list of stops is Wimbledon, Warwick, Bath, Dulwich, Tunbridge Wells, Chiswick, St. Albans, and Brighton. This is the UK's biggest food and music festival, and each stop has a unique menu and some special musical guests.

Pub in the Park is the brainchild of British Michelin-star chef Tom Kerridge, and he's invited some of his most talented friends on tour with him this year. Sample dishes are on sale from Kerridge and other accomplished chefs, such as Britain's youngest Michelin-star chef Tommy Banks, Angela Hartnett, Michel Roux JrRuth Hansom (the first woman to win a Young Chef of the Year award), or Michelin-starred chef Atul Kochhar. In fact, 13 of the chefs featured have Michelin stars.

What's it like so far?

We could describe the incredible success of last weekend in Marlow, but it would be easier to just show you. Check out the highlight reel below for a taste of the action.

What is there to do at Pub in the Park?

There is absolutely tonnes going on at Pub in the Park, so here's a breakdown to guide you through all the fun!

Live music

Diners can enjoy their meal with a show - musicians like Sister Sledge, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Happy Mondays, Rag 'n' Bone Man (above), Kaiser Chiefs, Supergrass, McFly, Basement Jaxx, Natalie Imbruglia, and The Human League are all making appearances. Go for the food, or the tunes, (or both), but just make sure you book a ticket in advance.

Masterclasses, talks and demonstrations

The extremely star-studded lineup of chefs is cooking up a storm in more ways than one. Tom Kerridge is cooking up his take on the classic British Steak and Ale Pie, while Atul Kochhar is serving his favourite Indian spiced fish curry with tomato and coconut. You can also enjoy seafood, slow-cooked meats, inventive vegetarian dishes, retro Mexican and Spanish flavours, and carefully-paired drink menus from some of the industry's most revered chefs.

Live & Cooking (in association with Weber)

This year, visitors will get to experience the brand new Live & Cooking showcase. At Warwick, The Miele Chef Demo Stage will feature local legends James Martin, Nitisha Patel and Atul Kochar, just to name a few. They will be demonstrating brunch classics, veggie dishes and a huge range of Miele kitchen appliances.

The Bookshop is back, and it's the perfect place to stock up on tasty literature and rub shoulders with the greats. At The Firepit, meanwhile, top grill gurus will share their tips and tricks for skewering, searing and sizzling meat, seafood and vegetables.

The Discover Weber experience will include mini masterclasses from BBQ experts, and you'll be able to try making pizza, steak and more with instruction from the best. At Wimbledon as well as Warwick, you'll be able to catch the Weber Demo Truck, where the Grill Masters and Grill Squad will show tips, tricks and skills.

Pub Comedy Club (Wimbledon and Dulwich only)

In order to honour the fact that pubs have helped launch many great comedy careers, Pub in the Park is getting its own comedy club! Expect names like Mark Watson, Phil Wang and Zoe Lyons to bring some hilarity to this foodie feast.

Kids' Activities

There are also plenty of activities for the young 'uns, including a giant Ferris wheel where you can soak in the view. Superpirates are hitting up Wimbledon next with giant Jenga, inflatables, circus skills and more to burn all that energy. Junkfish will be on hand with crafts, lego stations, playdough cafes nad the recycled junk ball run. The Flying Seagull Project will be appearing with silly entertainers and lots more activities so there's no shortage of things to do.
