The ‘sport’ of table shuffleboard is deeply social, horribly addictive and highly competitive – and this no-frills punky NYC East Village-style old workshop boasts two classic 16ft tables. The lo-fi lounge is the permanent new baby bro’ of The London Shuffle Club (the latter due back at Truman Brewery by Christmas 2017). It also contains the UK’s first Snapback board. Each table is available to hire by the hour (£20), with one generally held back for walk-ins. Shuffleboard is easy to play (even we miraculously managed to score top marks at our first throw), so curious interlopers will quickly want a go – especially after a shot of Dutch courage from a cobbled-together bar. Cool-boy brewskis join Romanian Pinot (Noir and Grigio) on the drinks list, alongside a nice line in cocktails such as Cherry Gander (a Grey Goose vodka, La Poire, Aperol and Cherry Heering Bellini) and various Patrón Margaritas manqués.
