Bistro du Vin is the in-house restaurant at Hotel du Vin Cambridge, known for its comforting, classic French cooking and regional French wine list.
Inside, Bistro du Vin feels slick and modern, bathed in natural light and decked out in comfy dining chairs, timber floorboards and welcoming potted foliage. As well as the main restaurant, it also boasts a dedicated bar where guests can stop for a drink, and an al fresco terrace covered by parasols.
The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, every day of the week, making it a great place to have in your back pocket for any occasion. On the breakfast menu you’ll find everything from a full cooked breakfast, to oak smoked salmon on toast, boiled eggs, grilled kippers and the like. Or you can grab a plate and get stuck into Bistro du Vin’s ‘Country Table’, which includes a continental spread of fresh breaks, pastries, cereals, fruit salad and more.
The a la carte includes a variety of menu options, ranging from a very reasonably-priced prix fixe, to daily specials like half lobster and fries Fridays, and a special Chateaubriand and Malbec deal for two. The prix fixe menu includes classic French cooking like oven-roasted garlic frog’s legs, as well as roast corn-fed chicken with Ratte potato mash, and creme brulee.
That’s not all, Bistro du Vin also serves afternoon tea, offering classic, vegan and gluten-free teas. Afternoon tea comes in the form of classic finger sandwiches, followed by freshly baked scones, a selection of cakes, as well as little dessert bites like a tarte au citron, creme brulee and Paris-Brest. There’s a significant tea selection on the menu too, and you can upgrade with a glass of Champagne if you’re feeling celebratory.
