Found just moments from Bank Station, Goodman City is a favourite for steak-focused dining, business lunches, and post-work catch-ups over great-quality dishes in a polished setting. Service is personal and warm, with an atmosphere that champions comfort and conviviality. The focus here is on well-sourced meats, looking to British farmers using best practices to supply great, responsibly reared beef.
Interiors follow Goodman’s signature look: dark timber panelling, deep-buttoned leather booths, intimate two-top tables, and larger seating for groups. Black and white photography adorns the walls, while hanging lights create a softly-lit atmosphere to complement a rich menu focused on quality.
The cornerstone of the Goodman City menu is ‘The Cut’, a daily specials board which spotlights cuts of meat chosen by the chefs each day from the kitchen’s ageing room. Only the best make ‘The Cut’. Though subject to change, guests can expect to see British beef aged for 30 or 60 days, and priced by the gram. Previous features in the rotating selection have included Belted Galloway T-bone, wing rib, and Hereford bone-in ribeye.
Alongside the specials, the à la carte menu offers further steak options, including fillet, sirloin, and Goodman’s signature ribeye, which comes in at a whopping 400 grams. All steaks are cooked over charcoal and served with sauces such as peppercorn, chimichurri, or bearnaise.
And, if you’re not in the mood for steak, you’ll find other options spanning burgers, turbot on the bone, and grilled corn-fed chicken. There’s also a popular lunch menu, which we think is motivation enough to escape the office for an hour (or two). Starters, too, are worth their salt. Expect options like prawn tempura with avocado, chipotle and gochujang mayo and Irish steak tartare. As for drinks, expect an extensive wine list with plenty of steak-friendly options from renowned Old and New World regions, alongside Champagne for celebratory moments, and premium cocktails.
