Fresh Feast brings a signature brand of cool to Chinese cuisine dining, situated in one of East London's most creative neighbourhoods, Spitalfields. Its concept starts in Linyi, in the southeast of Shandong Province, where the restaurant's founder felt inspired by its fiery flavours and home-style cooking, setting out on a mission to source the best ingredients, techniques and ingredients from across China.
In the restaurant, this attitude manifests in always-fresh cooking. The team promise to never cut corners and simply warm up pre-cooked meals. Instead, they promise every dish is made to order - just for you. They also promise to keep exploring; dishes will continue to change and develop, seeking inspiration from other corners of China with new flavours to try.
The menu is split into sections such as dumplings, bowls, signatures, classics - and 'not so' classics. From the small plates which are intended to be shared, you could go for dishes such as the crispy aromatic duck, smashed cucumber with garlic, sesame prawn toast or Thunder Crunch pork strips.
If bao and dumplings are you thing, add the black truffle veggie to your order - and we like the sound of the Korean spicy chicken, beef and cheese, and mixed veg treasures, too. The 'classic and not so classic' section says it brings together well-loved British Chinese flavors with a few bold twists reimagined the Fresh Feast way, with examples such as Chinese curry, Singapore black pepper and black bean.
We also have to give the signature noodle bowls a shout out, which sound delicious, with options like signature braised beef rib noodle and the Sichuan spicy noodle bowl. And, if that didn't all sound good enough, we think the desserts are going to blow your mind with experimental flavours, pulled off with creative techniques. Think brown sugar glutinous rice cakes with egg yolk filling or fried dough sticks with ice cream.
