Take in a broad selection of Mexican cuisine at the Chiquito in Gunwharf Quays, Portsmouth. Located inside the shopping centre, it’s also a short walk from the city’s Historic Dockyard and the famous Spinnaker Tower.
Starters include tacos, jalapeno poppers, quesadilla birria, chicken wings and garlic tortilla. There’s also patatas bravas, loaded nachos, cajun dusted green beans and hot habanero prawns. The sharing starter is called the Mexican sharer and features, among others, mini chicken burritos and beef chilli quesadillas.
Main course options are headlined by fajitas. These are served on a sizzling skillet filled with peppers, onions and your choice of either steak, chicken, plant-based chickem or BBQ chicken and pulled pork. Grated cheese, sour cream, salsa, guacamole and unlimited tortillas complete the fajitas line up. Build your own burrito, chimichanga, tacos or enchilada are also on offer. Fillings range from chicken tinga to pork carnitas, and there’s four sauce options: BBQ, hot, mild and volcano.
You’ll also find burgers and girl dishes. The Texan stack is the standout from the former, a cheeseburger, crispy southern fried chicken strips, BBQ sauce and jalapeno cheese sauce. A Mexican sirloin steak is the pick of the options from the grill.
