Cantuccio means a small and cosy corner in Italian, which is exactly what you’ll find in this Tunbridge Wells restaurant. With a warm and inviting atmosphere, Cantuccio welcomes all guests to enjoy delicious Italian pizzas made from ingredients sourced from local and organic suppliers. The menu focuses on great flavours, with dishes tasting their best when shared with those you love.
Starters include pitted green and purple olives with cornichons, artichokes, sun-dried tomatoes, sliced mushrooms and red and yellow peppers, along with burrata with fresh pesto, cherry plum tomatoes, figs and Cantuccio’s homemade sourdough bread. The charcuterie board comes with prosciutto crudo, mortadella, salame milano, buffalo mozzarella, and Cantuccio sourdough bread, served with harissa and pesto sauce.
Then it’s onto the mains, we’re talking sourdough Roman-style pizzas with thin and crispy bases. There are plenty of options to choose from. The Parmigiana is topped with tomato, mozzarella, garlic roasted aubergine, spicy piquanté peppers and parmesan shavings, while the Tartufo comes topped with tomato, mozzarella, mixed mushrooms and pecorino romano, finished with indulgent white truffle oil. More unique pizza toppings include the Merguez which comes with spicy North African merguez lamb sausage, fresh chilli and chives and the signature Cantuccio pizza which comes with salame milano, mortadella, and prosciutto crudo.
If you’d prefer something a bit more refreshing, try the Cantuccio salad, with a whole burrata served on a bed of mixed salad leaves, tenderstem broccoli, yellow courgettes, chargrilled artichokes, cherry plum tomatoes and tossed in Cantuccio house dressing. There are plenty of dessert options, including a delicious warm chocolate or salted caramel brownie served with your choice of Hackney Gelato ice cream, Nutella chocolate wrapped in a soft thin layer of Cantuccio sourdough bread, or homemade traditional tiramisu made with mascarpone cheese, fresh coffee and Tia Maria
