As well as wrangling the queues for its magnificent chorizo sandwiches on Borough Market and selling a range of stellar food and drink in its shops, Brindisa also finds time to run a switched-on group of tapas bars. Set within the Battersea Power Station development, Brindisa’s Battersea tapas bar offers beautiful plates of quality Spanish meats and produce, alongside classic sharing tapas and larger dishes.
Brindisa has a history of creating very attractive spaces, and the Battersea site, which comes with Thames views, is no different. The floor is warm terracotta tiling, and it blends nicely into the sunny glow of inset lighting and bright white walls, while many verdant plants occupy the shelves. All combined, Brindisa Tapas Battersea has a cheery and summery feel. A bar and counter run the length of the restaurant to seat solo diners and more casual tapas two-tops, while additional seating offers a mix of booths and tables.
Brindisa Tapas Battersea menus offer a splendid range of options and formats. The a la carte opens with picoteo (bar-style snacks) like croquetas de jamón, pan con tomate, and classic Galician pimientos de padrón. There’s a section of 'curados' like hand-carved acorn fed jamon Iberico de bellota sourced from Senorio de Montanera, and the ‘Table Mixta’, a mixed charcuterie which changes depending on what Brindisa has in store.
You’ll also find some Brindisa classics, from tortilla Espanola and gambas al ajillo to hand-caught Galician octopus with ratte potatoes, bone marrow and mojo rojo, alongside seasonal dishes. The latter section changes regularly, but has been known to include Wye Valley asparagus with wild garlic crema and shaved Galmesan cheese; Iberico pork cheeks with chickpeas, saffron picada and orange gremolata; and arroz negro with squid ink rice, lemon and alioli.
Alongside drinks like a PX Old Fashioned, Cava Sangria, and a Filthy Perello Margarita, Brindisa Tapas Battersea offers one of London’s most affordable tasting menus, offering a set choice of the restaurant's best dishes.
