Brasserie on the Bay at St Michaels Resort

Located within the four-star St Michaels Resort in Falmouth, the Brasserie on the Bay is a casual all-day restaurant serving dishes which showcase the best Cornish produce. The restaurant is open for breakfast lunch and dinner and the menu has a particular focus on fresh seafood which has been caught locally and brought to the restaurant each morning. However, sustainability is also a large part of the Brasserie on the Bay’s ethos, so the kitchen doesn’t use species which are threatened. The restaurant’s laidback ambience lends itself beautifully to family meals, while its gorgeous views of the coast make it an equally good destination for a romantic dinner.

The dining room blends the traditional with the modern to create a stylish space. Wooden pillars wrapped in rope break the room in half, with a mixture of banquettes and plush chairs sat around marble-topped tables. Purple lights cast a neon glow over the back side of the restaurant while large floor-to-ceiling windows ensure the rest of the room is flooded with light, and also provide diners with fantastic views down over the resort’s tropical gardens and on to the sea.

Head to the Brasserie on the Bay at breakfast time to enjoy classics like eggs Florentine and a full Cornish breakfast, while lunch sees a mixture of sandwiches and light bits such as crispy squid take centre stage. The dinner menu is the main event at the restaurant though and consists of starters such as seared pheasant breast with Jerusalem artichoke and poached pear, and main courses ranging from classic fish and chips to confit Cornish duck leg with a chorizo and butterbean stew, seasonal greens and orange oil.

A wide variety of drinks are also available at the Brasserie on the Bay including cocktails, local gins and a decent selection of wine.
