Botanica Hall is a lively, all-day dining spot with a stylish restaurant space, coal-fired oven and crowd-pleasing menu, just steps from Clapham Junction in South London. Whether you need somewhere to perch with your laptop and a coffee in the morning, or looking for a cocktail hotspot to try with friends, Botanica Hall ticks all the boxes.
Diving straight into the menu; brunch offers both obvious favourites like scrambled eggs on toast alongside granola and greek yogurt, while the truffled mushrooms on toast lean into indulgence and the breakfast stack - which comes with Cumberland sausages, smoked bacon, eggs, roast tomatoes and sourdough toast - is the kind of dish that's sure to fill you up. On Saturdays, this offering goes bottomless, so if you fancy a boozy start to the weekend, you can try two hours of bottomless Prosecco, Amstell or selected cocktails.
From afternoon into evening, the main menu takes over with small plates such as courgette fritti with chargrilled red pepper and basil sauce, as well as crispy chicken thigh, sesame seeds and Korean ketchup, and salt and pepper squid with chilli, spring onion and aioli. If you fancy something easy and good for sharing, the pizza selection has some great flavour combinations. Think artichokes, mushrooms, black olives and ham, or for vegetarian diners, the roasted peppers, aubergine, piquillo and artichoke sounds delicious.
Across the mains, you'll find everything from the roast cod loin, which is light and flavourful, served with Jersey Royal potatoes and rainbow chard, and by complete contrast, the doubel smash burger with American cheese, house sauce and skin-on fries. There's kind of everything inbetween, too, with a Green Goddess salad, a Puglian tagliatelle dish and 28-day-aged sirloin steak.
The space itself is also beautiful. Botanica Hall boasts velvet banquettes, statement lighting, rich, green tiling and plenty of thoughtful design touches that also make this a stunning place to hang out with friends, not just a tasty one.
