Secreted away behind a boutique tea counter, the popular late-night speakeasy bar Blind Spot offers globetrotting cocktails inspired by ports and cities from across the world. You’ll find it at St Martins Lane London, an achingly on-trend hotel in Covent Garden, waiting to transport you to some of the world’s most exotic locations, all from the comfort of your seat. Simply choose your destination cocktail and immerse yourself in the flavours and sounds of the world’s most iconic cities, from Harare and Cairo to Turin and Paris. Plus, a DJ gets the party started by spinning the decks on Saturday from 9 pm.
Tucked away and accessed via a concealed door with a golden hand-shaped handle, Blind Spot is romantic and alluring - perfect for intimate dates, after-work drinks, or a night out with friends. Think low-back lounge-style seating, candlelight tables, and deep red tones that make it both seductive and sociable. Backlit in yellow tones, the bar at the rear appears like a beacon, from which flavours from Zimbabwe to Havana find their way into masterful cocktails.
The ‘Kingston’, for example, features Appleton 12-year rum, Bacardi coconut, mango liquor, Guinness and mango hibiscus soda. Elsewhere, ‘Jeju’ is represented with Hwayo rice spirit, Bombay premier cru, mandarin liquor, and green tea; while the ‘Gold Coast’ emerges as a cocktail of beluga transatlantic, papa salt gin, lillet blanc, and caviar. The menu also provides the perfect food pairing for each, which sees the ‘Kingston’ matched with jerk chicken, the ‘Jeju’ with gochujang prawns and kimchi, and the ‘Gold Coast’ with crispy coconut squid.
Other cocktails include the ‘London’ with Plymouth sloe gin, Pimm’s N1, cranberry and lemon (served in a teacup, naturally), and a ‘Oaxaca’ blend with MayaJules mezcal, cenote blanco, and chipotle liquor.
