Lenny’s Apizza brings one of America’s most distinctive pizza traditions to Covent Garden, with its first permanent restaurant on Henrietta Street. Lenny's is dreamed up by Max Lewis and MJMK Restaurants, the team behind Casa do Frango, Fonda, Luso, KOL and AngloThai. The concept is inspired by Lewis’s travels to New Haven, Connecticut, and his much-loved London pop-up, giving his unique, New Haven-style pizza a permanent home. New Haven 'apizza' was developed in Connecticut through Italian immigrant communities, with Frank Pepe Pizzeria - founded in 1925 - among the best-known names associated with it. The pizzas are typically cooked for longer, creating a crust that is crisp, chewy and deeply charred, with a little less cheese and more emphasis on tomato than more familiar pizza styles.Lewis spent time in Connecticut learning the tradition first-hand before launching Lenny’s as a residency at the Bedford Tavern in Finsbury Park in 2024. That original pop-up quickly earned a reputation for its properly charred, structured bases and helped introduce the style to a wider London audience. The permanent Covent Garden restaurant builds on that same idea. The tomato pie remains central to the menu, while 'The Lenny' offers two styles in one 14-inch pizza: one half topped with tomato, garlic and pecorino, the other finished as a classic mozzarella pie. The core identity is clear: big-flavoured, charred pizzas with a serious sense of place behind them. The central location, of course, gives it extra appeal. Set on Henrietta Street in the middle of Covent Garden, Lenny’s makes an easy choice for a casual dinner before the theatre, a central catch-up with friends or a destination meal for anyone working their way through London’s best pizza spots.
