The problem of having a decent watering hole on route home, means frequent pit- stops for a quick drink or four. Now that we are in Christmas mode, the bar area is packed, most nights.
The interior is as explained in the review, with interesting art works throughout the hotel.
Having spoken to a number of staff, they all mention the fact that its very busy from 5-9pm, but once all the suits leave for home, it doesn't have the ‘second wave’ of guests, which comparable 5 star hotels thrive on.
All the drinks are superbly made, served in beautiful glasses. In fact, attention to detail is everywhere, which comes as no surprise, as Conran Design were given the interior project. Once the weather picks up, the two outdoor spaces will become highly prized City destinations.
Staff seem to have all come from equally smart establishments, so service is intelligent and slick, with moments of good conversation, when time allows.
I can't really find fault in the place, but I do hope they manage to build a later evening clientele, so the atmosphere holds, so the staff have something to do.
