SquareMeal Review of Walter and Monty

It’s a name you may not have heard before, but if you have, you’ll know all about the owners’ passion for chargrilling great meat. A street-food stall success story, former City trader Alex Kaye has now found the need for his own premises, setting up shop in this 30-seater site in Bury Court. Drop in for huge hunks of picanha (top sirloin to the rest of us), grilled over charcoal and then cut down on a bed of parsley, lemon and peppercorn (whatever you do, don’t forget to slather it with that garlic and feta dressing). The house signature is butterflied leg of lamb, while health-conscious diners can swap chips for quality salads – including an on-trend roasted and deep-fried cauliflower version, a combo of pancetta, cumin, brown butter croutons and Parmesan.
