This fast-casual restaurant caters to City suits with grab-and-go dishes and some eat-in too. Focusing on Nikkei cuisine, otherwise known as the fusion of Peruvian and Japanese ingredients, Waka is gunning for lunchtime crowds and those seeking quick City dinners. Located round the corner from the Walkie Talkie, Waka serves up dishes such as sea bass ceviche with wasabi, a Japanese pumpkin and beetroot salad, and hot chicken teriyaki rice bowls with Peruvian purple potato. The menu also features a selection of hand-made sushi, gyoza, tiraditos and hot options including tamari-glazed fried chicken wings. Although focused on the takeaway trade, there’s room for 60 diners in the colourful basement and with pricing this affordable (most dishes are between £4-7), you might want to sit down and make the most of it.
