Afternoon Tea Dates are my favourite way to meet a blogger; you get to natter away for a few hours, eat pretty pastries and sip away on beautiful champagne while discussing your next big trip. Suze from the Luxury Columnist (my blog date) and I popped along to try the new Flight of Fancy Afternoon Tea at St. Ermin’s Hotel after receiving a lovely invite from the hotel. I think the blog date went well…we are still following each other on social media – you will get instantly unfollowed after a blog date if you don’t eat all your pastries!...

St Ermin’s Hotel hides many fascinating secrets behind its historic facade. It’s actually the only publicly accessible building closely associated with British espionage, of which more later. Today I’m celebrating Queen Elizabeth II’s 90th birthday with a slap up tea. She’s Britain’s longest-reigning monarch and a lady of amazing dignity and strength (in my opinion anyway). And where better to celebrate her life than at the stylish St Ermin’s Hotel in London’s St James where they’ve laid on a Royal Tea in her honour. It’s available through the summer until August 31.You enter the St Ermin’s through a lovely courtyard garden.
