SquareMeal Review of
Tricked out in shades of lurid orange, this Oasis signals its Polish presence in a dour shopping arcade just off the Neasden roundabout. Inside, all is as cheerfully expat as can be, with snappy
surrounds, plenty of native conversation & a hefty, bold-as-brass menu that displays its peasant roots with pride. Stomach-filling, heart-warming, spirit-lifting platefuls are the order of the
day, as the kitchen feeds the breakfast crowd with omelettes, Polish sausages & other goodies, before getting to grips with flaki (beef tripe soup), golabki (stuffed cabbage with tomato sauce),
pork rissoles with potatoes, or ryba z frytkami (fish & chips, to you & me). There are also dumplings galore, & meals end triumphantly with nalesniki pancakes (served with jam or sweet
cheese). Polish beers & vodka are the drinks of choice – unless you fancy coffee with ice cream.
