SquareMeal Review of No.67

Whether you opt for the cosy intimacy and muted tones of the Victorian parlour or the stunning double-height space of the ultra-contemporary annexe, you'll be treated to some punchy Mediterranean flavours at this stylish gallery on the Peckham/Camberwell fringes. By day, No. 67 functions as a café – albeit one where the coffee is from Allpress, and breakfast includes the quirky ‘full Spanglish' starring paprika-laden chorizo and spicy morcilla. In the evening, the Bugaboos disappear and the area's arty sophisticates come out to play. Cue a line-up of inviting dishes packed with complementary flavours ‘perfectly suited to the seasons' – a deep-fried egg with buttered samphire, for example, or onglet steak with chicory, peppercorn and Stilton sauce. Pastry work is a strong suit in the cramped galley kitchen, so round off with the day's sweet tart.
