Despite the rock-band name, there’s not a hint of grunge about this pan-Asian restaurant at the wonderfully discreet Montcalm hotel: just clever, high-quality, upmarket cooking. Kick off with crispy salted squid with a zingy cucumber, lemongrass and ginger sauce, or a duck and watermelon salad, served with pomegranate, mandarin orange and herbs. Follow with beef bulgogi and purple potatoes; tofu-stuffed salmon, cooked over charcoal and paired with Thai herb butter; or the signature baby chicken in mint miso with garlic chips and Puy lentil salsa. A simple Asian fruit platter provides a healthy and invigorating finish. For liquid accompaniment, diners can of course stick to tea, juices or water, but if you’re looking for a spot of alcohol, peruse the cocktail and wine list, which has been carefully massaged to match the food. A laid-back atmosphere and tight, switched-on service complete the pleasing picture.
