Loch Fyne

SquareMeal Review of Loch Fyne Covent Garden

Branches of Loch Fyne continue to draw the crowds, thanks to a winning combination of super-fresh fish, efficient service & bright, contemporary surrounds. Classic items such as gloriously simple oysters & smoked salmon hark back to the original oyster shack & fish smokery at the head of Loch Fyne, & the chain has an admirable commitment to using non-endangered fish stocks. The lengthy menu moves from whitebait with lemon mayonnaise to poached smoked haddock with spinach, peas, mash & wholegrain mustard sauce, reeling in shellfish platters & whole grilled turbot with shrimp butter along the way. If fish isn’t your bag, you’ll probably have to make do with steak or chicken. Nearly everything on the reasonable wine list is available by the glass.
