SquareMeal Review of
Halkin Bar (afternoon tea)
COMO The Halkin hotel isn’t afraid of the culinary cutting edge – look to its now Michelin-starred Basque restaurant Ametsa with Arzak Instruction for evidence of that – but when it comes to teatime, it follows a more classical
path. Its new afternoon tea, created in collaboration with JING Tea and served in the discrete Halkin Bar, does the traditional thing without ever forgoing the precision and contemporary elegance
that are The Halkin’s hallmarks. There is nothing classical about this international inspired afternoon tea menu, think fresh strawberry and tomato soup, Iberico Ham and Manchego cheese pillows, zesty lime custard and banana tartlets and even charred sweets. Expect to pay £32 per
person, or £36 with a glass of Cava.
