Revolutionaries of south London rejoice: Guerilla welcomes all comrades and serves proper 20-inch New York-style pizzas to boot. This late-night Tooting Broadway bar comes from the team behind Tooting Bec’s gin and curry emporium, Imperial Durbar, and its manifesto of cocktails, craft beer, pizza and music is already a hit. Furnished like a communist bunker, with camouflage netting, trestle tables and posters of dictators, it’s not your average drinking den. Chairman Mao smiles down on party crowds tucking into cheekily named cocktails such as Fidel’s Ruin (an easy-drinking rum punch), the vodka-based Leninade or Ly-Che Guevara (gin, lychee, lemon juice and apple syrup). The brief drinks list also features Clara Pacifico pilsner, craft ale cans and Savanna cider. Pizzas by the slice include Capitalist Pig (sausage, bacon and pulled pork) and Comrade Corbyn (goats’ cheese, courgette and rocket). To aid the cause, DJs deliver everything from Northern Soul to rock.
