Great Taste at The Cadogan

SquareMeal Review of Great Taste at The Cadogan

What was Langtry’s, is now a bastion of British food with a fresh, sophisticated menu that celebrates winning producers from the Great Taste awards – so pitch up and indulge in ocean-fresh dressed crab with a rich, precisely balanced crab and brandy bisque, absurdly tender beef rump with luxurious bone-marrow risotto, or a giant raviolo filled with tender hunks of rabbit, served on delicate braised lettuce. After that, moreish desserts span everything from a gigantic whisky trifle to a minute, deconstructed Bakewell tart. As an extra fillip, head chef Oliver Lesnick regularly invites prominent foodies – such as The Sunday Times’ Lucas Hollweg – to add their stamp to his seasonally changing repertoire. Diners can enjoy it all amid the high-ceilinged elegance of a quiet dining room, with earnest staff on hand to provide keen service.

I had a 3 course dinner at this hotel – visiting from Australia. Not only was it extremely well priced, but the quality of service and food was outstanding. I had the beef and chilli chocolate cake and can say it was delicious! My waitress was also very friendly, approachable and knowledgable anout all dishes. I wouldn't hesitate to reccomend this to anyone – really fantastic. The hotel itself, even though I wasn't staying there was very cute – boutique style and very English. A very positive experience!

Really enjoyed my evening at the Cadogan's Great Taste restaurant. The food is rich in flavour. The portion sizes are perfect. I like the concept of bringing the best British produce together in one place. The wine list is extensive, the atmosphere relaxed and service is excellent – great product knowledge. Great Taste happens to be in one of my favorite parts of town too so I think I'll be going back!

Had a really lovely meal here with a friend. We loved the fact that the menu is made from a compilation of best British produce. The service was fantastic, great food that I would have happily paid more for. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very relaxed and comfortable, I will definately be taking some of my clients here.
