This chic new all-day brasserie in Farringdon is a good choice at any time of day: drop in for a morning coffee and a signature savoury waffle of maple bacon, scrambled eggs and grated truffle, or how about a lunch of sea bass ceviche with yuzu, spring onion and coriander? There are heartier dirty burgers too, laden with cheese and bacon, while 155 pushes the boat out at dinner, when you might start with a glass of fizz or a well-made cocktail before tucking in to scallops matched with cauliflower and toasted pine nuts, sweetened with golden raisins. Best end of Lake District lamb with croquettes made of slow-cooked lamb shoulder could follow. Anticipate beautiful, up-to-the-minute presentation and young keen staff giving it everything they’ve got.
