Temaki Mayfair offers private dining with the polish of a Mayfair restaurant but the intimacy of sitting right at the counter. Available across both floors for lunch and dinner seven days a week, it's a space particularly well suited to birthdays, small celebrations and client dinners where the food, and watching it come together, is central to the experience.
The design concept is restrained, warm and distinctly Japanese. Pale timber wraps around the long counters, paired with simple wooden stools, soft neutral upholstery and clean-lined tables. The palette is deliberately soft and neutral, letting the craftsmanship and food take focus. Downstairs, the occasional artwork adds a flash of colour, while the overall effect is chic and minimal without feeling stark. For groups, that counter-style set-up creates a sociable vibe with everyone experiencing the food curation together.
As for capacity, numbers are intentionally small. The ground floor seats 15 at the bar, while the lower ground offers space for 13 at the bar or 14 seated around a table. Minimum spends apply, and special permission can be sought for later closing when the occasion calls for it.
The menu is mainly focused on hand rolls and Japanese small plates. Temaki signatures include akami tuna with soy and wasabi, otoro tuna with spring onion, spicy trout with ikura, cucumber and shiso, and lobster with egg yolk, miso and citrus. There is also BBQ eel, baked scallop with homemade chilli sauce and kewpie, and miso aubergine with spring onion and sesame. Groups can build out the meal with small plates such as A4 wagyu tataki with garlic chips, seared chutoro with truffle ponzu, yellowtail sashimi with jalapeño sauce, monkfish karaage with spicy mayo and butterfish sashimi with crispy shallots and ponzu. While, homemade pickles, grilled aubergine and seaweed salad prop the larger dishes up nicely.
