Found within St James’s Market (which houses the popular likes of fusion restaurant Scully and high-end West African joint Ikoyi), Aquavit is a stylish yet relaxed restaurant which serves a menu inspired by Nordic cuisine. The restaurant also offers private dining opportunities, boasting two dedicated event spaces which can host all manner of personal and corporate celebrations, including business lunches, birthday dinners and drinks receptions.
Both of Aquavit’s private dining rooms are located on its mezzanine level and boast a contemporary Nordic feel, complete with attractive lighting and patterned wallpaper. The first and largest space is The Stockholm Room, which can accommodate up to 63 guests for a sit-down meal. The room comes equipped with a strong Wi-Fi connection and Bang & Olufsen AV equipment, as well as an additional lounge area that is available for pre- or post-meal drinks.
For more intimate occasions, instead opt for The Copenhagen Room, an elegant and warm space which can accommodate up to 15 seated guests around one large, round table. Like The Stockholm Room, this space features Bang & Olufsen AV equipment and wireless internet access, making it easy to host presentations or meetings.
Aquavit’s private dining rooms are available to book for both lunch and dinner and can accommodate either sit-down meals, standing receptions or business meetings. The spaces are versatile and the layout of furniture can be reconfigured to the needs of your event. As the two rooms are adjoining, there is also the option for larger groups to hire them in tandem, giving you exclusive use of the entire mezzanine level.
As for the food menu, expect an offering which matches the theme of the main restaurant, comprising popular dishes with classic Nordic fare - think the likes of Swedish meatballs, braised ox cheek or Norwegian halibut in a saffron butter sauce.
