Dorney Court is a Grade-I listed Tudor manor in Buckinghamshire, about 45 minutes west of Central London. The house dates from around 1440 and has been owned by the Palmer family since 1542, who still live there to this day but open the house for private hire year round and for visitors during the summer months.
Its interior layout has remained virtually unchanged in 500 years, with most of the furniture dating from the Restoration after its predecessors were looted during the English Civil War. While it may appear as though the same can be said of the exterior, this is in fact a seamless blend of restoration and renovation, largely due to nineteenth century work required to keep the house standing.
Available to hire for everything from anniversaries and birthdays to engagement parties, the Coach House Barn is a pretty red brick building with a private courtyard. It boasts four double doors along the length of the barn, which offer plenty of natural light and open out onto a Yorkstone terrace. You can hire this space for up to 120 seated guests, or 200 standing. In the corner, you'll find a rustic barn which can be used however you like.
Dorney Court provides catering in-house, thanks to a team that prioritised fresh produce and exceptional standards. If you so choose, there's even the chance to personalise your event catering. Drinks are also provided in-house, with varied packages to choose from, offering a range of wines from various wine merchants.
