Tucked away in a tiny courtyard near Bank, The Don occupies the old Sandeman port cellars, where the company’s famous sherries, madeiras and ports were bottled for more than 200 years. Today, its walls are adorned with seven fine abstract paintings by modern British master John Hoyland, while its charming atmosphere, top-notch French food and efficient service continue to win over City-based clientele. It’s available for private hire on Saturdays and Sundays. The Blending Room, White Room (with a 15ft Hoyland of its own), Sandeman Room and Vault, and Wine Study can also be hired on weekdays.
