Perhaps best-known for its afternoon tea offerings, Metrodeco have a fantastic menu that will see you from morning to night. Breakfast features an assortment of topped crumpets which they describe as a quintessential tearoom treat. The vintage Cheddar, chive and Marmite topped crumpet is sure to entice.
The evening afternoon tea selection includes a variety of open topped rye bread sandwiches, a savoury scone and a few sweet treats too. Plus, there is an option to add hairstyling, make-up, photography, gin tasting, perfume making and even burlesque dancing classes. Advance booking is essential, and a minimum number of participants is applicable for some activities, with prices starting from £15.
Vegan and gluten-free menus are also available for the afternoon tea and include dishes such as Lemon and coriander humous with roasted peppers in a seeded wrap or vegan crumpets with lentil pate and roasted tomato.
For hot drink lovers there are more than 20 teas on the menu, which are also incorporated into the cocktails for a late-night twist on this classic British treat. Shady Lady is a gin-based cocktail combining Metrodeco’s Shades of grey tea, lychee liqueur, a splash of pomegranate and rose cordial, which is topped with tonic water.
Set over two floors, large parties are able to occupy their own area of the tearoom for added comfort and privacy. The décor is vintage from wall to window with art deco style wallpaper and plush sofas and armchairs.
