There’s a reason pubs are one of the most in-demand Christmas party venues: they’re cosy, warm, familiar, and built for socialising. The Rose & Crown Clapham Old Town has all the makings for fabulous festive events, whether you're celebrating with a small group or hosting the entire office. Established in 1870, the team have restored this classic Victorian boozer into a very stylish local hub and venue.
For mid-sized Christmas parties, the first-floor dining room is the place to be. Here, complete with a private bar, you can host up to 45 for sit-down dining, or up to 55 for standing events with drinks and canapes. Christmas party menus change with the seasons, but to give an idea of the kind of food to expect with your festive do at The Rose & Crown, you’ll find sample menus include a range of starters like salmon gravlax with pickled cucumber and dill cream, za’tar cauliflower, and a chicken and bacon Caesar salad.
It’s all served family style, with mains like a chicken, ham hock and leek pie; braised pork shoulder with puffed crackling; and celeriac and black truffle risotto served alongside side dishes like wholegrain farmhouse mash potato, seasonal buttered greens, and chicory and hazelnut salad. Dessert might include sticky toffee pudding with butterscotch sauce and clotted cream ice cream, or rhubarb crumble with ginger biscuit crumble.
For standing Christmas parties at The Rose & Crown Clapham Old Town, there’s a range of intriguing canapé options. Cold bites include pea and bacon tartlets, roast beef finger sandwiches, and smoked salmon blinis with herring roe. Hot canapes could include honey and mustard chipolatas, truffle arancini, Welsh rarebit crostini, pulled pork croquettes, and pork and nduja sausage rolls. Alternatively, larger canape options offer a range of sliders, fish finger sandwiches and a fish and chips cone.
