Christmas at The Globe is made for festive gatherings that want a little more personality than the average seasonal knees-up. Its distinctive rococo exterior and historic position beside the Roman Wall set the scene, while The Globe's three private spaces provide options for office Christmas parties, client entertaining, team celebrations and get-togethers with friends and family.
The Dining Room is the venue’s largest dedicated space, accommodating up to 60 guests seated or 100 standing. With grand curtains, warm woods, chandelier lighting and its own private bar, it can be transformed for a proper festive banquet or a more relaxed party; plus, it even has a projector and flatscreen for end-of-year presentations and speeches.
The Lounge offers a more intimate Christmas setting, seating up to 30 or accommodating 50 standing. Artwork and traditional details give it plenty of atmosphere, while the private bar means the group can keep the celebrations contained to its own space. Going for a larger standing celebration? Keats at The Globe can host 60 seated or 150 standing, and like The Dining Room, has its own bar, projector and flat screen.
For a traditional sit-down Christmas meal, The Globe's three-course festive menu starts with king prawn and smoked salmon cocktail, chicken liver and brandy pate, spiced parsnip and sweet potato soup or shallot and Camembert tart Tatin. Mains include hand-carved turkey with stuffing and Cumberland pigs-in-blankets, pan-roasted salmon with king prawns, slow-cooked pork belly and festive nut roast. Christmas pudding, dark chocolate truffle torte and apple and cinnamon crumble pie feature among the desserts.
Going more relaxed? The Globe's festive buffet the perfect alternative, offering dishes like cheeseburger or spiced falafel sliders, mushroom and black garlic arancini, sticky chicken, calamari and padron peppers. There's also a premium option that adds mini steak and Pale Ale pies, grilled chicken and red pepper skewers, grilled salmon and king prawn cocktail cups, while a trio of desserts can finish things sweetly.
