NOTE: THE ICA IS NOT TAKING BOOKINGS UNTIL THE 1ST SEPTEMBER 2022.
If you fancy the idea of hosting a Christmas party in a location steeped in art and history, then consider the Institute of Contemporary Arts, a legendary venue with a story to tell. Originally founded by a collection of artists and poets back in 1968, the space has staged numerous exhibitions and performances by renowned artists over the years, offering a wealth of incredible spaces to hero the very best of London’s art, music and culture scene. Luckily, those spaces can be hired out for events of all types, including Christmas parties, for an extra magical Christmas this year.
Situated on The Mall and with views of Big Ben, the London Eye and St. James’s Park, the Institute of Contemporary Arts offers an impressive location from the off. Inside, you can choose between a host of grand and versatile spaces depending on how many you’re looking to host. The Nash & Brandon rooms are some of its most beautiful spaces, decorated in Regency style and boasting original Regency plasterwork along with floor-to-ceiling windows that look out over St James’s Park. Any Christmas party held here is sure to impress, and can hold up to 150 people standing or seated (across both rooms).
The theatre, meanwhile, is a unique production space that can be engineered in a variety of seating styles. It also comes with its own in-house technical team, including sound and lighting and audio visual equipment if you’re looking to add an immersive element to your Christmas party. This space is a good option for larger events, holding up to 350 people standing and 150 people for dinner.
However, if you’re after a slightly smaller space with a more modern feel, then the ICA Bar is a recently refurbished room with sweeping skylights to create a bright and uplifting atmosphere. Book here for a festive drinks reception, or as an add-on to another of the ICA’s spaces.
