Have you had your fill of turkey and trimmings? If you're interested in doing something a little different this Christmas, Sri Lankan restaurant Copper Ceylon in Bromley is welcoming Christmas party bookings and private dining events over the festive period, whether that be for friends, family or corporate parties.
As a quick introduction to Copper Ceylon, this family-run restaurant offers a contemporary take on the traditional Sri Lankan flavours loved and enjoyed by both Hakan and Dion, couple and owners. Together, they made a career change in 2019 and set out to open their own restaurant, which today has a tight-knit team, award-winning kitchen and vibrant concept, with DJ nights, a party atmosphere and experience-led cocktails.
This Christmas, the head chef has devised a festive menu that can be ordered in advance for your guests, making planning just that little bit easier. To start, diners will choose one appetiser from a selection of mutton roll, okra fry, chicken 65, prawn varuval and vada with coconut chutney. Next, there's a wide selections of mains including pot roasted chicken marinated in Sri Lankan Masala and served with roast gravy and savoury duck fat roast potatoes, as well as Sri Lankan herbs marinated baked fish wrapped in banana leaf and lime and chilli, with marinated grilled king prawns, served with curry gravy and savoury couscous.
For dessert, get stuck into the authentic Jaggery Watalappam - a rich, spiced coconut custard pudding - or a classic Christmas pudding. There's plenty of add on options, too, with spicy chilli butter corn ribs, baked cheese cauliflower, and loaded fries, alongside dahl curry, poppadoms and butter chilli, and aubergine red curry, for vegetarian diners.
Across spaces to hire, there's the Blue Sapphire room with capacity for 24 people seated and 40 people standing, as well as the Ruby room with space for 50 people seated and 80 people standing, or the Emerald room with DJ booth and island bar, and a capacity of 120 people.
