For celebratory drinks receptions of up to 40 people (standing), The Private Room is a navy-walled, cosy space to retreat to during December and beyond. It also caters for dining experiences of up to 30 people (seated), in which guests can indulge in the set Christmas menu. For £45 per person, the festive feast features a curated selection of wintry dishes. Starters and mains both include vegetarian and meat options; start with duck liver parfait or heritage carrots with cashew cream before moving on to slow-cooked shoulder of lamb or chanterelle risotto.
Desserts include Christmas pudding with brandy custard, spiced apple crumble or dark chocolate terrine with candied hazelnuts.
Smaller gatherings for parties of up to six people can book The Snug next to the pub bar, a separate space that fits its title perfectly. This corner of the pub features booth seating, golden lighting and a single table for friends and family to huddle around, whether it’s with one of the pub’s selection of draught beers or for a relaxed sit-down dinner.
The Grill upstairs holds a maximum capacity of 20 people seated and provides a bright, simple space with wooden furniture, burgundy booth seats and cool grey walls. The Grill room is perhaps its most versatile space and can be adapted to suit the type of occasion.
